Community Kitchen: Curry Around the World!

Curry Around the World – Cooking Experience

When many Americans hear the word curry, they picture a spicy yellow Indian dish served over rice. But curry is so much more than that! Curry is a global category of flavorful dishes with endless regional variations—much like burgers or tacos.

In this hands-on, taste-filled class, we’ll explore how curry traveled the world and transformed along the way. Join us as we cook, watch demos, and sample three flavorful curries, each with its own story and style:
Bunny Chow – a South African street-food classic
Indian Curry – rich with spices and tradition
Japanese Curry – cozy, mild, and unbelievably comforting
Goan Shrimp- coconut based, that is tangy and spicy

You’ll learn what curry really is, how it evolved across cultures, and how to recreate two of these dishes at home while enjoying a tasting of the other 2!
